With cloud being nothing new we’ve seen an explosion across the IT market wanting to get the advantage & benefits of cloud computing. Over the last few years I’ve seen a lot of hybrid cloud models especially for medium to larger organisations across NZ. They sometimes keep their critical data, or data they need to have on-shore on-prem and then put other apps or services into the cloud which makes sense.
Sure if you have a software start-up you’re going to go serverless from the get go….but for other more established businesses it can be a real challenge to ‘go to the cloud’.
Many businesses need to get ‘cloud ready’ and this means updating systems & processes so they’re in good shape to migrate to the cloud which can be no mean feat…and can take a number of months or years….
