Canterbury Tech Summit Thursday 24th November

I wanted to thank Canterbury Tech for their determination and perseverance for running the recent Tech Summit at UC.

To say it’s been a challenging 2.5 years is somewhat of an understatement for running an event and getting a whole bunch of different people in one place from all over New Zealand.

Although we’re all passionate about technology it’s always about he tangata, he tangata, he tangata - the people, the people, the people.

Thanks to all the amazing & inspiring speakers who challenge our thinking, enable us to think differently looking at new perspectives to improve and be better.

Seeing people I haven’t caught up with for 2.5-3 years created a time of reflection to realise how lucky we are to work in technology and how many businesses just continued by working from home. Yes a lot of change & pivoting but an incredibly dynamic industry that we can be proud of in Canterbury and across New Zealand that creates software, hardware & systems that help people across the globe.

It was also great to meet new people, see old colleagues, candidates, clients and friendly competitors to recognise we’re all just human doing our best.

Proud to be part of the Canterbury Tech community and hopefully we’ll see a few of you at the AGM / Quiz night on Tuesday 6th Dec.
