Is this the greatest skill in job hunting & business no one mentions?

You’re applying for lots of jobs fed up and wondering why you’re not getting anywhere? Then a friend you’re talking to asks you have you followed up on any of your job applications? You say well no I thought they’d get back to me…

Following up is probably the greatest well used skill in business no one talks about…

Honestly if I just left stuff and didn’t follow up NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN…literally…

I see it with the successful candidates….they chase me to find out what’s happening…I in turn chase my client to see if they’e interested in meeting with said candidate and boom they often have an interview…

I don’t think i’ve ever written a blog on this or has anyone??…It’s an unsaid thing that people just do…chase…the reality is everyone’s busy, e-mails ‘fall through the cracks’ you’re at your kids school event or in the car on the run…modern mobile working has not helped with this concept as we read an email and don’t action it (although I’ve learned to do this over the years)…

Following up by simply sending an email a couple of days later to confirm the person has received the info and politely asking what are next steps? Is a crucial action. If this bares no fruit then a phone call is very useful…especially works well for neurodiverse people or dyslexic contacts (which you wouldn’t know but these people tend to struggle with the deluge of emails even more and are often quite receptive to a phone call…

SO GO ON FOLLOW UP ON THAT COMMUNICATION AND MAKE IT HAPPEN…AS NO ONE ELSE WILL AND IF YOU’RE NOT SOMEONE ELSE IS…
